Small robotics prototypes — designed and built in Houston
Who we are
Houston Pro Bots is a Houston, Texas company founded by Roberto Pensotti — an experienced aerospace engineer and designer with a lifelong passion for robotics and precision craftsmanship.
The studio specializes in a single discipline: designing and building small, functional robotics prototypes that work in the real world. We serve educators, students, hobbyists, researchers, and clients who need practical robotic technology without the overhead of a large engineering firm.
Every project starts with a clear brief and ends with a tested, deliverable prototype — one you can iterate on, deploy, or hand off to a production team with confidence.
Every component is selected deliberately. Every joint, weld, and circuit is built to perform — not to look good in a pitch deck.
We stay current with the latest trends in robotics — from navigation architectures to controller platforms — and apply them pragmatically.
We work alongside clients at every phase, from initial requirements through field testing and refinement. Robotics prototyping is a team sport.
The difference between a prototype that fails in testing and one that ships is almost always in the details. We sweat them so you don't have to.
We don't hand over a robot we haven't broken ourselves first. Rigorous testing under real operating conditions is built into every project.
From first conversation to final delivery, we are committed to an exceptional client experience — and we stay available after delivery.
Roberto Pensotti brings a background spanning aerospace engineering, electronics, and software integration. His approach to robotics is shaped by years of hands-on prototyping — from differential drive platforms to autonomous navigation systems — and a conviction that the best engineering solutions are also the most elegant ones.
Houston Pro Bots was built on the belief that a small, focused team with genuine engineering depth can out-perform larger consultancies on targeted prototype work. Roberto leads every project personally.
What we do
Houston Pro Bots handles every stage of the robotics prototype lifecycle — from concept and requirements definition through fabrication, integration, and field testing. Our work is hands-on, technically rigorous, and scoped to your actual needs.
Mechanical layout, component selection, and system architecture — all defined and reviewed before a single part is ordered.
Precision fabrication and electronics assembly, with full documentation of every build decision for traceability and repeatability.
Structured test protocols, performance logging, and iterative refinement until the prototype consistently meets its design parameters.
Technical guidance on navigation systems, controller selection, power architecture, and regulatory or safety considerations.
Approachable robotics projects for classrooms, makerspaces, and independent builders — designed to teach, inspire, and scale.
Full requirements scoping for novel robotics challenges — from operating environment definition through component cost analysis and timeline.
Every engagement opens with a discovery conversation to define requirements and agree on success criteria. We then produce a written design brief, propose a build plan with timeline and budget, and proceed with your approval. Clients receive regular updates and are involved in all key decisions throughout.
